Features
3005-EX Internal Ignition Module:
- Made in the U.S.A.
- Selectable single or dual fire mode
- Digitally set RPM limit (100 RPM steps)
- Four rotary switches for timing adjustments
- Coil outputs protected against short circuits
- Selectable multi-spark mode for quick starting and smooth cruising
- Use the tachometer wire for the PC link and comes with a connector
- Two diagnostic LEDs indicate the status and the state of the vacuum switch (VOES)
- Wide timing advance adjustment range accommodates stock to highly modified engines
- Optional USB interface and software available for programming custom curves (Sold Separately)
- Require coils with a minimum of 3 ohms resistance and low-resistance spiral-core-type plug wires
- The status LED is also used for static timing, as it will flash when the engine reaches top dead center (TDC)
- When programmed for kick start mode, the unit has zero cranking delay and a 30-second timeout before coil current shutoff

NOTE: Not for fuel-injected models.
NOTE: Exempt per CARB Executive Order (E.O.) #D-641-1.
NOTE: The Model 1005-EX must be operated with the original equipment Harley Davidson™ timing rotor (P/N 32402-83).
NOTE: Kick Start Capability: Primarily intended for electric-start applications. However, Rev 7.0 units can be programmed for kick start mode by using our PC Link Evo software and optional USB interface.
NOTE: Sportster® 1200S with Dual Plug Heads: OEM coil has low resistance primary windings that are not compatible with the ignition. You must replace the OEM coil with an aftermarket four-tower coil that has 3-ohm primary resistance. You will have to remove the original equipment MAP sensor. You will also require a timing rotor (P/N 18004) and VOES switch (P/N 18010).
NOTE: Switch selectable single or dual fire mode allows you to initially install the unit and run it in dual fire mode with the stock coil. You can then easily upgrade to single fire by adding an appropriate coil (P/N 2005 included in this kit). If you have a tach, it will continue to operate properly (some competitive systems require that you purchase a tach adapter).
